Overcoming Barriers to Change: Start Your Revolution Now

If you are a bit Meh, or non-committal on doing this Revolution, sit back and think on readiness.

Ask yourself:

What is in your way?

What are you saying to yourself that STOPS you from saying YES?

You will have your own answers, but if not then here are the most likely culprits that get in the way of change:

  1. Maybe you have FAILED at resolutions before. Often, I hear folks say, “I HATE resolutions” and this is usually why! Who wouldn’t HATE something they fail at every year!!!

Follow the REVOLUTION plan, and it should help and increase your likelihood of success! You just have to give it a chance.

2. Folks often don’t believe they can’t actually do it. This is a version of fear of failure.

What is the quote, “You WILL miss every basket you don’t shoot” Is that right? I’m not great at sports stuff!

But the point is, your options are:

DON’T try at all and for SURE no change happens

               OR

TRY something DIFFERENT than you’ve done in the past and at least have the CHANCE you’ll get the change you are looking for.

OR

DO THE SAME THING YOU’VE ALWAYS DONE AND STAY STUCK!

3. I’m too busy/tired/etc….

Yeah, I get this one. We are all busy. Life is FULL and that isn’t a bad thing. What I can tell you is, “busy” is more an excuse than a reason, so is tired. It’s more saying “nah” I don’t want to do this. Which, BTW is FINE. If you are NOT in a space where you have the energy or are just not ready that’s ok. You do NOT have to do this Revolution ON New Years! You can come back to this anytime. Just BE HONEST with yourself and accept your answer, or look for ways to change it.

Keep in mind, if we wait until we are NOT busy, or NOT tired, well it will be a LONG WAIT!!!!

oK, go back and think about what you came up with that is in your way? Are there things you can change? Can you say NO to some things that are TIME SUCKERS? Would you benefit from looking at your sleep habits? Are there things in your life that are small adjustments that might help?

Maybe the FIRST Resolution of your Revolution is:

Figure out what is in the way of me doing what I want to to, creating the changes I want to make and then ADDRESS those things!

Now, TAKE ON the New Year, YOU GOT THIS!
