On the First Day of Christmas, we decided to be more thoughtful with regard to gift giving.
On the Second day we decided to make gift giving even easier by managing our gift giving expectations.
On the Third Day of Christmas, we checked IN on the plan
On the Fourth Day we decided to get REAL, to NOT should on ourselves or others!
On the Sixth day, we will try to be KINDER to ourselves.
On the Seventh day we look to be nice, thoughtful and kind to others (without forgetting ourselves).
On the Eighth Day we are going to challenge our qualifiers, so we can embrace HAPPY!
On the Ninth day, we are going to look at Gratefulness
On the Tenth day, we are going to create SMILES
On the Eleventh day we are going to check in on how we are doing with this whole series.
Now on the Twelfth day we are going to UP our GO ME Moments!!!
What is a “go me moment” you ask?
GO ME MOMENT: Simply put, these are moments where we feel proud or ourselves. They are not perfect; they are just moments that we can say GO ME!!! They can be based on progress, one a “thing” we did (or didn’t do) and they can be on nailing it. They can be small, medium big and everything in between. This is often NOT easy for folks to DO. So, I’ll give you some examples:
GO ME:
- I read this whole blog series!
- I was more thoughtful with regard to gift giving.
- I made gift giving even easier by managing my gift giving expectations.
- I checked in on my gift giving plan
- I decided to STOP shoulding on myself and others!
- I was kinder to myself
- I focused on being nice, thoughtful and kind to others (without forgetting myself)
- I challenged some of my qualifiers, so I can embrace HAPPY!
- I made a Gratefulness list
- I made a smile list
- I created at least ONE smile three days this week!
- I did some self-insight work
I know, those look familiar! Ok, here are some more
- I didn’t answer my phone because I didn’t want to
- I went for a walk
- I enjoyed my coffee without checking email
- I put my shoes away
- I took a shower
- I made a nice meal
- I did the laundry
- I was nice, even when “they” weren’t
- I didn’t beat myself up for: fill in the blank
- I allowed myself to SEE “GO ME MOMENTS”!!!!
Key notes:
- Specific is BETTER, more believable and it sticks better.
- Watch out for qualifiers!!!
- Remember this isn’t about PERFECT, its simply about saying “good job” to ourselves.
- They can still be true even if it makes you twitch to say them!!!
- If you haven’t done these in awhile it’s bound to feel ODD, so EMBRACE the discomfort you may feel saying them!
- When it comes to GO ME MOMENTS the MORE the MERRIER!!!
I’ll end this series of posts on a personal GO ME MOMENT:
I FINISHED THIS BLOG SERIES!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!
And here is how hard this is to NOT qualify our go me moments. I wanted to put FINALLY at the end!!! But I resisted! And instead put WOOO HOOOO!!!
So, another go me moment:
I did NOT put FINALLY, even though I thought it! 🙂
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
